Our missionPlanning a trip with other people should feel like the trip itself: collaborative, a little exciting, never a chore. Most of us still plan group travel by stitching together a group chat, a spreadsheet, three browser tabs, and one very patient friend who keeps the receipts. VoyajeBoard is for that friend.

What we are buildingVoyajeBoard is a collaborative travel planning app for iOS, with a parallel web app for desktop planning. Every trip is a shared board. Invite the people you are traveling with, pick the roles that fit (owner, editor, viewer), and plan together in real time. Your itinerary, your budget, your receipts, your daybook of personal notes, and your booking links all live in one place.

A few things that make the day-to-day work:A real shared budget. Split expenses by equal, percentage, or custom shares, settle up into the payment app you already use, and catch over-budget alerts before they become arguments.AI that helps without taking over. Itinerary suggestions, smart packing lists, budget estimates grounded in cost-of-living data, and receipt scanning that fills in the boring fields.Destination discovery you can trust. A Destination Discovery Quiz that matches you to cities by what you actually care about, plus guides with real reviews, weather, costs, and neighborhood context.Disruption alerts and iOS widgets. When a flight changes, the trip knows before you do. Your next trip, your budget, and your alerts on the lock screen. Trips load offline; currency rates have a 7-day stale window so you are not stranded at the kiosk.

Why we existGroup travel is one of the few things that genuinely improves with more people, and one of the few app categories that has actively gotten worse for them. The good travel tools are built for solo bookings. The good budgeting tools are built for one wallet. The good itinerary tools are built for one inbox. None of them assume four friends, two timezones, and one running joke about who picked the hotel last time. VoyajeBoard starts from the assumption that group travel is the default. Solo trips, work trips, and weekend escapes are just smaller versions of the same shape.

How VoyajeBoard startedVoyajeBoard was founded in Chicago in November 2025 by Adam Johnson, after one too many group trips were planned the same way: a thirty-message text thread, a shared spreadsheet that absolutely no one updated, three browser tabs that were definitely not the same hotel, and a hand-drawn budget that survived first contact with the airport bar by about nine minutes.Adam spent several years inside the travel and OTA industry, on the side of the screen most travelers never see. The systems, the GDS plumbing, the pricing logic, the affiliate ecosystem, the reasons your flight got rebooked at 4 a.m. He kept noticing the same thing: the back end of travel got significantly better every year. The front end, for people actually trying to take a trip with their friends, did not. The traveler still got a spreadsheet.VoyajeBoard is the app he wishes had existed for every group trip he ever planned, then was asked to plan again, then was asked to please not plan because he kept building spreadsheets. It is built on the conviction that group travel is a feature, not a bug, and that the tools should treat it that way.
